Why the EJ Idea Lab.

A Message from Elyssa

There is an extreme pace of change in business, catalyzed by the pandemic, and continuing to barrel forward, driven by economic, political, social, and environmental factors. As massive disruptions occurred in 2020, I observed these shifts, and was poised to understand their implications as an organization design and transformation executive at a top tier management consulting firm.

It’s also clear to me that entrepreneurial and purpose-driven entities are essential to addressing many of these challenges. But the demands of a small business, nonprofit, or entrepreneurial career can make it seem like pausing to strategize is a luxury. However, without strong organizational foundations, it’s difficult to go from idea to successful outcome.

With a passion for social change and background in nonprofits, I began to think about how best to translate my skills and assist small and purpose-driven entities to take advantage of evolving market opportunities. With time, I developed and launched the EJ Idea Lab to empower organizations and entrepreneurs to create a better future.

Common Questions.

How is pricing determined?

We work with you to arrive at a realistic cost structure during our pre-project discussions. Pricing factors include your organization’s budget, project scope, services, staffing & other resources, and project duration.

What is the client-consultant relationship during projects?

Our clients are more than just a function to our business. To help you achieve sustainable success, we build quality connections, work within your company culture and values, and bring our own culture of humility, curiosity, and accountability to each of our projects.

How do you report and maintain accountability for deliverables and results?

We use project management best practices. During the planning and startup process, we’ll define deliverables, results, and reporting benchmarks. We’ll also work with you to set a regular (usually weekly) progress update, operating with full transparency at all times.

Do you work in-person or remotely?

We typically conduct our projects remotely, but we also value the ability to collaborate in-person. If you are interested, we are happy to be on site for key project moments.
